The curriculum is structured to provide progressive skill development, combining hands-on ceramic training with foundational vocational and workplace skills.
1. Ceramic Foundations
• Introduction to clay, tools, and studio safety
• Hand-building techniques (pinch, coil, slab)
• Basic wheel-throwing fundamentals
• Understanding forms, function, and craftsmanship
2. Surface Design & Firing
• Glazing techniques and color application
• Kiln loading, firing processes, and safety procedures
• Understanding clay bodies, glaze behavior, and finishes
3. Studio Work Routines & Task Sequencing
• Step-by-step production processes
• Following structured work routines
• Time management and responsibility in a studio setting
• Cleaning, organizing, and maintaining shared studio spaces
4. Small-Batch Product Creation
• Creating functional and decorative ceramic products
• Quality control and consistency standards
• Preparing work for display, sale, or portfolio use
5. Portfolio Development & Job Readiness
• Building a personal ceramic portfolio
